The small print
Privacy
People write private things here. This page says exactly what happens to them.
What we hold
- Your email address, and your name if you gave one.
- A hash of your password — never the password itself. We cannot read it, and neither can anyone who steals the database.
- Your wallet movements: what you added, what you spent, and when.
- The notes you write, so we can display them.
What we do not hold
- Card numbers. Payments go directly to Stripe; the card form is theirs, and the details never reach our servers.
- Any tracking or advertising profile. There are no third-party analytics scripts and no advertising pixels on this site.
Your notes
- Named pages are served with instructions telling search engines not to index them, and the note's text is deliberately kept out of link previews so that the person you send it to is the first to read it.
- A note published on the lovenote.page homepage is public by nature — that is what the date is for.
- Anyone who has the link to a named page can read it. Treat the link as the key.
Who else sees it
- Stripe, to take payments and prevent fraud.
- Our hosting and database providers, who store the data on our behalf.
- Nobody else. We do not sell data, and there is nothing here worth selling.
How long
- Notes and account details are kept while your account is open.
- Payment and ledger records are kept for six years after the transaction, because tax law requires it.
- Close your account and everything not legally required to be retained is deleted.
Your rights
- You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will do it.
